The sun is out, the warmth has finally arrived, and another school year is almost at a close.  2013/2014 has been a busy and beautiful year for the B.T. Library.  We had two of our most successful Scholastic Book Fairs ever, an incredible student turn-out for the Forest of Reading program, and an ever-growing population of young readers clamouring for “must read” novels in the library.

Our library space continues to go “high-tech” with the addition of new beautiful MAC’s for use of students to search our library catalogue and work on assignments as well as a new MacBook laptop cart for the integration of I.T. into curriculum areas.  Staff and students alike have been thoroughly excited to use this new technology.  Thank You, Mr. Skinner for leading the way and allowing Bruce Trail to have access to such amazing tools to enhance our learning.

As the days in June dwindle, the library is in the midst of year-end inventory: collecting staff and student library books, organizing the library, and getting everything into tip-top shape for September.  Students and parents are encouraged to look at home for any B.T. library books that may have been forgotten or misplaced in backpacks, book shelves, toy chests, closets, and under beds.  Any found library items can be dropped in the office or directly in the library.

Although the B.T. library is now closed for the year, the end of school shouldn’t mean the end of reading.  Visit your local branch of the Milton Library to find some great summer reads , borrow books from your friends, and check the B.T. Library twitter page for reading recommendations throughout the months of July and August.

See you in September!
