With only a few days left of the 2015/2016 school year, the Bruce Trail Library is busy tracking down lost library books and completing Year-End Inventory.  There are approx. 40 library items still missing, so please be sure to take a look at home for any books that may have found their way into a hiding space.  Remember that payment for lost books will be refunded if the item is found in good condition within a year.

Even with the summer break on our minds, we’ve done some planning for our 2016/2017 school year here in the B.T. Library.  Listening to our students’ voices, we’ve ordered some new furniture and display items to help transform our space and allow it to be utilized in more engaging ways.  Also, be sure to stay tuned for some exciting author visit announcements for Fall 2016.  We’ve already booked Canadian author Vikki Van Sickle to share her picture book “If I Had a Gryphon” with our Gr. 1 & 2’s in October.  This is sure to be a spectacular event.

As the summer break approaches, my summer reading list also starts to take shape.  I hope to finally tackle a few titles that have been on my shelf for a while as well as take in some new releases.  I am especially looking forward to the July 12th release of the fifth Land of Stories book “An Author’s Odyssey”.  If you haven’t read this series for 9-12 year olds yet, you should definitely consider starting it this summer as it’s perfect vacation reading for those who love adventure and a twist on classic fairytales.

I am certain that a few new titles will be added as the summer progresses but here is a glimpse of my Summer 2016 Reading List:

Have a safe and wonderful summer!
